Thoughts and ideas for events in 2008 (in no particular order)
Local Events- Track Days - Mid-America Motorplex for the 1/8th mile, or maybe a run to KCIR or Topeka?
- BBQ?
- Cruise nights
- Show 'N Shines?
- Tech day?
- Hot Rod Power Tour - I think I read the Power Tour was coming through Lincoln again this year
- Americruise?
Regional and National Events- SC/GTP Club Clash in Earlville Iowa - Check out the
SC Club of IA for more information on that.
- Kansas City Meet?
- 2008 Super Coupe Shootout
- Great Bend Kansas meet.
- Car Craft Nationals in July at Minneapolis
- Muscle Car Shootout at Brainerd.
If anyone has any other suggestions or thoughts - please post.

There hasn't been any action in the Nebraska forum since March, so I figured I had better post something up. Don't let the MN12 love die off in Nebraska!

Car Show in Havelock 11:00am - 4:30pm
Group Photo at Mahoney Park 5:00pm (The one in east Lincoln)
Dinner at Applebee's on North 27th 6:00pmI'm not a huge car show fan, but this one would be a pretty good one to go to. It is hosted by the Capital City Mustang Club, and usually has a really good turnout with lots of Fords. Those who want to enter their cars can, those who just want to hang out/check out others can, and those that could care less can show up later for the rest of the activities. The mall is about 10 minutes from the car show, so that is an option as well if anyone (Carly & Tara) get bored with the rest of us

After the car show, I thought it would be a good opportunity to get a group photo for 2010. Mahoney park is just a few minutes from the car show off of 70th street, and should provide a nice open area for photos. No permit is required to enter the park.
After that, you could all cruise over to Applebee's on North 27th street for dinner, or where ever else you might want to go. That would allow people who can't spend the whole day in town a chance to meet up with everyone for dinner if they would like. Thoughts??

I know I've attended some meets in pretty poor weather, but these guys have just 1up'd me. This was the Mark VIII meet near Kansas Speedway yesterday. I stayed home myself, but there were still 6 guys, and they all drove their cars.

We should have a real good turnout next time!

I finally tied up some loose ends on the winter project. The muSCtang ran for about 15minutes. Is anyone looking at doing some tuning this spring?

Just wanted to let all of you know so that if you wanted to attend, you can... Yesterday my church notified me that they are planning a benefit breakfast in my honor. It's a good-will donation breakfast that Thrivent for Lutherans will match up to $2000. The money will be used to pay down debt incurred while I was under treatment the first time around.
Details:
What: Benefit breakfast for the Malones
When: Sunday, September 27th from 9:00-11:00 am
Where: Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 3825 Wildbriar Lane, (1/2 block north of 40th and Old Cheney), Lincoln, NE 68516.
I post this just so any of you who might attend will know. Don't feel bad if you can't, but if you can, you'll me more than welcome to show up. I hope to see you all there!

Got a little project going on at my place. It's my trip car for my trips to Houston for treatment. Trying to replace the axles in it and am in a bit of a pinch. Turns out I'm going to do a bit more work (lower control arms and sway bar end links minimum) to get it worthy for the road. The big problem that I'm running into now is that I can't get the CV joint out of the transmission/transaxle. It's a VERY tight fit and I can't get that C-clip to release. I've got to drive this car on Sunday, so ANY help would be rewarded!

PLEASE!!!

Today. Its out at the Gretna Outlet Mall. It's put on by the Omaha VW Club. I've got two friends that are going to be out there and I enjoy VW. It's from 9 am - 4 pm I believe. One of my friends is the club secretary and has a 1975 VW Micro Bus aka Hippie Van. It's 2 tone lime green (rally green) and a white/cream. My other friend has a 2003 (I think) GTI with a Jetta front end so it's a "J"TI. It's all blacked out except the rims because buying rubber for the 19" black rims he has is expensive. It's lowered and looks pretty cool. I'm not sure if he is actually going to enter.
Just to let you all know. I'm not sure how people feel about VW. I like them and want a VW Corrado.

I saw this for sale on CL.
http://omaha.craigslist.org/cto/1280287603.html89 Cougar, White, Supercharged. It's a very generic post, but the supercharged engine got me interested. and $800 aint bad for a supercharged cougar. I've not tried contacting the guy, and probably wont get it, but it would be cool to check out.

I just found out about this and was wondering if anyone else is going or would be interested. Meeting at the Sonic at 90t a Maple around 7:00 pm tonight. Last year there was around 200 cars. My friend who's a part of the Omaha VW Club just told me. I said if I can find some other guys maybe I'll go (because I'm sure my car would be the biggest outcast there). It sounds cool, but also kind of scares me because I watched a video from last year and some illegal racing went down afterwards and I'd rather not be involved. It sounds like they meet at one spot and are there for a while, then go cruising, then that's when some stuff goes down, so I'd probably just go for the hangin out, and then leave.

Ben, Charlez, and myself went to some junk yards on Saturday. There wasn't a whole lot there of interest, but we did manage to find a few good deals. We started at the South U-Pull It lot. There really were not a whole lot of MN12's there. A few LX and LS Thunderbirds and Cougars, and 1 2nd Gen SHO that was fairly complete. There was a 94 blue Thunderbird that was pretty decent. If anyone is looking for trim pieces, it still had quite a bit. Doug, if you friend is still looking for a front clip, that might be a decent car.

We continued on to the U-Wrench-It, right next door. There were several MN12's and 2 Mark VIII's, including a silver 40th Anniversary car. All of the MN12's and Mark VIII's were pretty well picked over/ruined. There was a really decent red 1993 SHO that was almost complete. It had a really decent black interior, including good front cloth/leather seats, and clean bumper covers.

We finished up the day at the North U-Pull It. We were running out of time, so we had to make a very quick scan of what was there, and grab a few items. There were the usual variety of LX and LS models, including a fairly complete 5.0 Thunderbird, and a laser red '97 Cougar. There was also a 1991 SC. The blower setup was gone, the interior is pretty much trashed, I grabbed the rear cover, and Ben picked up the IC. It looked like the motor had some work done to it fairly recently, but who knows what is there.

I was hoping to make it over to the Carter Lake yard to see if by some small miracle the Cobra R's or Mach1 hood were still on that Thunderbird out there. I have never been to that yard, and it was likely past their closing time, so we called it a day.

Got a chance to take the stang to the track today. The first 2 runs were rather rough since i was trying to get a feel for the car and learn how to get the tranny to shift.
1st 13.25 @ 99.9
2nd 13.59 @ 94.4
3rd 13.04 @ 106.4
4th 13.03 @ 100.2
5th 12.86 @ 107.7
4th and 5th were bracket races. But I put a dial time of 13.0. The 5th race was against a 13.02 dial time and we both broke out but I won the race but lost the bracket by .02
I called it a day since my IC piping was trying to come apart so ill have to work on that. I bet I can get 12.6 with a few more passes and when the motor is broke in. current mileage on the motor is 665.

Matt and Mindy tied the know last Saturday at a private ceremony and then invited friends and family to a reception afterwards. I wasn't able to stay long, but stopped by and congratulated them.
Congrats and best wishes to you both!

A friend works for Hart Auto Supply and they sell PFC Carbon Metallic brake pads and deal a lot with selling brake parts for the local PD. He said he could get me 4 new rotors (nothing real fancy) and new PFC CM pads for all 4 corners for $300. Does that seem fair first off?
If anyone else is interested I can ask him if we can do a group buy for a lower price. I think if I could find at least 5 other people who are interested then I'd ask.
